People go to great lengths to find peace of mind. I have heard of
some travel to the mountains of Asia or a church in Italy and
France. I've seen them come to the "Indian" Sacred Places and look
or sit or walk around searching for peace of mind. For what it is
worth, there are sacred places, places where you can be calm and
reflect on your life and what you are looking for. There are place
for you to come in contact with your inner self. I know of them and
how you can be in them as your needs demand. These sacred places
are there and the path to them is covered with people's failure to
reach them because their resolve was less than the effort it took to
reach a sacred place.
Sacred places are and were made by those who searched and prayed for
a place to meditate, to vision quest, to be thankful, even to just
rest in the calm of the moment and watch the sun rise and set with
their day being done. What must be done to find and be in a sacred
place? Why just follow a few simple steps and you will be able to
be there or bring up your sacred place.
To have a sacred place you must have peace of mind! To have peace
of mind you must ask yourself many questions and answer the
questions honestly.
Try this and see if you don't find the place you can have peace in.
When you woke this morning, how did you feel? Were you happy?
Angry? Sad? How about your body, did it feel alive or was it
groggy, feeling lost, or even not there? What did you first do when
you woke up? Did you smile because it was a new day? Did you want
to be left alone or share your feelings with others? When you went
to the table to eat your first meal, did you look at it and be
thankful for the food and the one who made it? Even if the cook was
you, were you thankful for the effort in making the food? How about
a calm quiet thanks to the Creator for giving you one more day to
live and learn and help others? Were you happy for that?
Do you have a place in your home where you are able to sit without
interuption and become calm and centered? If not a place, how
about a time of day you are able to try to be calm and quiet? Do
you light a candle as part of your ceremony? Is there a scent of
flowers or herbs or perfume? Maybe you have a small waterfalls or
fountain to hear. How about a kind of soothing music you can claim
as your meditation music?
