Since we have had many people this past year pass over to the spirit
side, I thought you might like to read a Metis Funeral Prayer. I've
found it in several references and here it is.
"Do not look at my grave and weep; I am not there. I am a thousand
winds that blow. I am the diamond glints on the snow. I am the
sunlight on ripened grain. I am the gentle spring rain. I am not there,
I did not die. When you awaken in the morning hush. I am the swift,
uplifting rush of quiet birds in circled flight. I am the soft stars
that Shine over your head at night. Do not stand at my grave and cry.
I am not there, I did not die." May we all find the power in this
prayer and look to the future for reunion and a great hunt.
