Metis Meditation

There have been several people asking me about Metis Meditations,
and how to go about doing them. Here is one of the methods taught to
me and I now pass it on to you. Others will follow through the next
few weeks. You will need to create your own sanctuary where you can
spend time to think and experience and experiment with meditation
UNinterupted. Usually Meditations comes in one form or another. An
earlier post taught about the `50 minute a day' methode of
meditating. If you haven't tried that one, go to the post #88 and
work with that for a month or so before moving on to any other.
Oncwe you have established a space all your own, be it a room, part
of a room, a seperate building, a back porch, a whatever space, use
it daily. Make sure everyone in the house knows that when you are in
that space, you are NOT to be disturbed. Use music that sooths you
to help set the mood to meditate. Some people just like the sounds
of silence as a tool to moving deeper within there inner self. Use
`affirmations' (statement of positive force) to help you go deeper
into yourself. Affirmations are a good way to change and or accept
yourself as you are, only in a positive way. If you want to be
peaceful, tranquil, gaining wisdom, becoming simpler in your way of
living, working on spiritual growth or whatever, affirmations are a
great aid. Sit in your sacred space, relax, let the thoughts of the
day pass through you without seeing them. Try not to look or
recognize any thought, sound or feeling you have at the moment. Take
a deep breath, letting the air fill your abdomin then your lungs.
Slowly let the air out and visualize your cares and worries flow out
with your breadth. Do the breathing several times, relaxing more and
more as you move deeper into your inner self. It may take several
sessions to be able to get to feel your movement into yourself.
Don't give up. Remember, it takes 3 weeks for a practice to be
established and 3 weeks to stop a habbit you want to rid yourself
of. I have always taught and have been taught that 4 weeks is best,
giving you one more week to solidify the new way. See yourself as
you want to be or as knowing what you want to know. When you were
born, you had all the knowledge of the universe and all the insight
necessary to see that knowledge. It is only after years of hearing
the you cannots that you loose that ability. Now you are trying to
reestablish that kind of sight and growth. Be patient with yourself
and you will see that you too can see, hear, and know all you need
to. The "Way" is simple, it is we who makes it seem hard with our
preconceived notions of what is and what is not.
